Essential experience

The essential experience that I intend of this game is nostalgia and discorvery, In the game, the player will have to find pictures within the levels in order to reclaim past memories, The pcitures themselves are memories in cased in a picture, they capture a snap moment of the characters past, as the player cannot remember these memories but they seem familiar somehow in order to restore those memories the player will have to explore the game world to get those memories back and remember.

 

 

In order for the player to find these pictures, they have to find the scent of the pictures, each pictures in gives of a different scent, the scents have different colours so that the player will know what one to use. Each picture/ memory will lead the player to different paths thus a different essential experience for each one.

The game will be a mystery platform adventure game.

Point of view

The game will in a 2.5D perspective primary, secondary POV when activating the alignment mechanic (mentioned later in the document).

You wake up in a dark gloomy place, the eariness of it all drops a hint of fear within you, 'what is this place ? what am I doing here?, wait.....I?, what am I?, who am I? all this overflow you with fear and dread, a scent goes through your nostrils, the scent is familiar but you can't remember, you let the scent move you from this eary place you don't know what scent is, where it comes from, or oven how you recognise it but this could lead me to my identity.

Jake is a young man who was caught in the freys of a mysterious accident which resulted in his leg injured but worse he can't remember who he is and why he is in this place, the objective of the game is to discover and find this young man's identity through the levels by collecting memories in the form of picture and align it with the background to find the secret it holds. The game is a mystery and enigma as its main character does not know his own identity, and the adventure is the exploration into the character's mind to find that identity, and what caused this mysterious accident.

The game world takes place in the character's mind, therefore the environment/background are going to be memories of the character but because he can't remember anything the environment is going to be quite foggy to illustrate character recall of memories
