Animation the character limping
.png)
One of the design goals that I set for myself was to create animation prototypes for my game, this can range from character movement to the animation of the environment, admittedly I have been quite nervous starting this process because I am not very well versed in animation. But never the less I began looking at different youtube tutorials for animation, it was quite hard to find a youtube video that had the right content because a lot of the character animations that were available on youtube had normal walking cycles, but my goal was to have my character walk/ run with a limp, then I found this youtube video of a man walking whilst limping, So I sketched his movements in the video, I think I made about 20 - 30 drawings of the man's movement. Once that was completed I began sketching the movements in procreate, I have been using procreate for the last 2 years but I didn't until very recently that has an animated assist section, how it works is by sketching a layer and adding another layer which creates the illusion of animation. I had a work process when it came to creating the animation, and it goes a bit like this:
1. Sketch the skeleton.
2. Sketch the clothes and how they would interact with the body and air drags.
3. Create a final design of the animaiton
I have to say the animation took me a lot longer than I imagined, I was doing it for 2 hours, that being said it is my first attempt with the animation so maybe that duration will increased over time.

Animation the character Jumping

This process didn't take long as well, at first I sketched the stick figure fo my character jumping, then I sketched how the coat, scarf and hospital gown will interact with the character jumping.

Here are the sketches that I did, on the left-hand side it s the drawing of the coat, the right-hand side shows the stick figure drawing and the ones in the bottoms shows the scarf drawing
