Environment - animation

After creating the animation for my character I felt that wasn't enough work for the animation section, the animation is one of the main design goals so I feel like if I haven't done enough I won't feel emotionally fulfilled. Also when it came to mechanics and environment I have diagrams I don't think the audience can properly understand or visualise the idea I came up with, so I decided upon to animate some of the key stages of the game so that people can properly see the game come to life.

When it came to the drawing it wasn't particularly hard because a lot of the animation is copied from concept art pieces that I used earlier in the project.

Here are the animations:

1. This is the first animations that I have made, in this scene shows the character looking up to towards the light, his mouth is wide open but as the animation progresses this mouth shuts. This one wasn't particularly hard because it's just the mouth that was being animated.

2. This is the second animation the same scene by of his mouth being opened, his mouth is now shot, but his eyes are looking towards his side. Because the character is in a place he might not recognise he's trying to figure out where

3. This is the third animation, in this animation it shows the character jumping down to the ground, this is where the plater is introduced to basic mechanics first I drew the character as that it is the most important subject, then the rocks and the lands. For the player to know how to jump is that on the screen it says 'press up to jump'.

4. This is the fourth animation that shows the character sitting down until the scent comes out and travels towards the plater, this is the second mechanic introduced, I made a red line towards the player's mouth, and as that happens the scent meter increases.

5/6. This is the fifth and sixth animation that shows the character in the forest environment with a lot of foggy in the background the character is not animated but the environment and the fog are.

7. The seventh animation shows the character collecting a memory.

8. This animation shows the alignment mechanic, the alignment mechanic in the game is when you align the content on the picture to whatever is in the environment e.g. in this instance the players is aligning the person with a kite to the kite in the background.
