Narrative

In my third peer review one of the most prominent feedback that I got was creating a narrative for my game, So far in the project I have a very basic story but I haven't came up with any part plot points or story arcs, though the feedback means well and I will be designing the narratvive later in the next couple of weeks, but I don't think it will be a good idea to create the narrative at this point in the project.

It's because I have very little solid mechanic ideas and creating a narrative before I have came up with mechanics will heavily restrict the mechanic ideas, i'll be designing mechanics based around the narrative rather than having the mechanics and narrative working together.

This seems to be a very prominent mistake that alot of designers do when creating a game where they have a great story or character, but what they don't seem to understand is that they are putting some very unessacary restrictions on what the game could be. I have a very basic sotry but I don't have a lto of mechanic ideas, so for now the goal will be designing the mcahnics/ gameplay and then consider a narrative.
