Week 2 – concept art - trees

to my responsibilities for this project is to create the environmental assets for the game and because the project is such a big project it can be split into two groups environments wannabe focus more on the prop design and to be focus more on the foliage so trees or plants for example I’ll be designing the foliage and trees.
To help me design the trees that will be created for this project are Phil created a mood board this is just to help me have some reference in what sort of models I can create this project love love the movable pictures consist of alien -like plants and trees most of them have a blue purple green colour palette salicylate just an experiment with those sort of callous I can I thought the idea of having different gradient shades of colours so the plant will have by the stem of the plant will have a good dark purple and then near to the top of the planets like light purple to have that gradient between the dark part and the like, so with that and in mind
I created about 10 or so trees in rough drawing along consist of irregular shapes with unwanted experiment with the shapes that I saw in the mood board after that was done I created the digital art version of those trees I used are procreate when creating these trees I mostly used a syrup tool and creating it and the colours I used were brown, blue, green, purple colour palette

After I created the digital artwork on procreate I posted it on my teams slack channel dear get some feedback on the work that I’ve done so far Callum is the head of the 3D department for this semester is especially looking for him for feedback and this is his feedback

So Callum seemed to like the the third tree in the first one he likes the one in the middle the second one and for the last one he liked the first three so from what it looks like to me the the trees the have gradient colour shade borrow the most popular designs I created so when creating the 3D models have that in mind in particular
because I created quite a lot of 3D models for the trees I can’t read it all in detail each design I created however I can give you a rough break down how I created the trees
· I created a new circle I change the size from 32 to 5 because I wanted the skeleton of the tree to look low poly and then as upper body type you put shader’s move and then put our subdivision surface pro to smooth out the way
· After that was done I made the shape and 3D by pressing E my quite big and the stem and then I made a small run at the top so it would look like a tree
· when it comes to the shader gradient is there shader editor for this says the texture coordinate to generate the vectors and they used mapping and then I used separate X, Y, and Z so when the coloured radiates it happens in the the section so the colour goes up and down rather than left to right so when creating the plant would look quite dark in the bottom and then as you go up the tree gets lighter and lighter in colour.
