Again as I mentioned in the previous blog we have to make a vertical slice based on someone else’s games design document, and for that to happen we had to pitch our games to the rest of the class and then after that we have to make a vote based on those on the games that we liked and because is 20 of us there is probably be four games that are going to be developed this semester.Personally, I am an extremely anxious person so the idea of presenting makes my stomach feel funny, but nevertheless I made the presentation, here is how I did it:

First, I wrote down a couple notes on what my game is about, and I took the key points of it and the elements that make the game unique so e.g. I discussed how belong (the title of my game) is a mystery platform adventure game, the main mechanics is called the alignment mechanic, the alignment mechanic is when the picture and background is aligned, this is the only way for the player to progress through the level, also you use the mouse to move the picture, the game itself is in a 2.5D perspective but depending on the mechanics the dimensional change, the notes mostly consist of mechanics, concept art, the story, and then after that I created the long script

I split it into four points
1
The first one was about the genre of the game and what platform it will be released On.
2
second one was about the story behind it.
3
number three was about the level design and how the levels would be laid out and the level environment that is a key component to the narrative of the game.
4
Number four was talking about what the game.
To be honest it didn’t take me long to be honest hour, I decided it will be good idea to show the trailer and whilst its playing discuss what my game is about, I also made a PowerPoint presentation as well this included all things that was shown in the trailer like concept art, animations, But I showed the poster, and the title design. I felt that my presentation went okay, I was talking extremely fast and I was clever tumbling over my own words because my nerves, I think I do need to improve on my public speaking. Like I said in the previous blog one of my improvements for this semester is to talk to my classmates more often about my ideas so I think exposing my ideas to the class more often will help me improve my public speaking. shocker my game was not voted on by class, to be honest I kind of expected it when looking at everyone else’s work their work was a lot more exciting and exhilarating than mine my idea was pretty terrible, so I can understand why people didn’t want to look at my work to be honest. The games that were chosen for this semester was membrane, anima mundi, Misho and the Forrester dreams, out of mind.
