on Thursday we chose the games will be developed this semester but on Friday it was the interviews for those games. Prior to the interviews James told us to look at the game design documents of the games and we liked and start thinking about tasks you can possibly do for that project, I read all the four documents and though I really liked all three all for them I really liked Valkar’s game design document Misho, when developing my game in semester one I used to look at other students work and see how they formatted their ideas, and I have to say I was really impressed with Valkar’s work, especially with it came to his concept art and 3D models and the idea of the game itself just really interested me. So as far as I know Misho is a third person RPG game exploring a forest, Misho is a mouse and he is lost in the magical world, and to find out why he’s here and how we can escape this dangerous world he has to explore the environment, and I’d imagine that he explores the environment, the more he fights scary enemies and the end boss supposed to be the worst nightmare, so it seems like to me that this game is about overcoming your fears, sounds very similar to Joseph Campbell’s the hero’s journey.

The idea itself sounds really cool so I decided to use this game instead, so in the interview I was quite direct about what I can bring to the project I stated that I’m quite familiar with 3D modelling and if anyone needs any help when it came to 3D architecture, concept art, animation, then I’ll be glad to help out. I got the position I wanted Phill (team leader) suggested that I needed to change my art style somewhat, he stated that a lot of my work is quite abstract and it needed to be a bit more realistic for this project, after Some reflection I realised that what he said is true, a lot of my work is quite fantastical and abstract so I decided that this semester for self-improvement, I’ll be studying a lot of real world environments, and how environmental artists do their work.
